Events

Sometimes there are special events with additional earning opportunities. You can tell when an event is coming, and which kind of event, by keeping an eye on blog.ca.swagbucks.com.

Repeating events include:

Twitter Trivia Tuesday: Happens on the last Tuesday of each month At 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, and 4 PM PST, they will post a trivia question on their Twitter (@Swagbucks). The Twitter post contains a link to the trivia question in the form of a search string on the Swagbucks search engine. The answer is a swag code, which grants 3 SB (10 AM), 4 SB (12 PM, 4 PM), or 5 SB (2 PM).

Rather than lasting a certain amount of time like regular codes, trivia codes expire based on the number of people who have claimed it. As such, the amount of time you have to get a trivia code varies, but a decent rule of thumb is "three minutes". You generally have to be right there when the question comes out in order to get it in time. (I usually set an alarm for two minutes before the hour.)

Note that because these codes last such a short amount of time, they don't show up on any notification systems.

Swag Code Day: about once a month, usually on a Wednesday. The exact numbers vary, but a rough idea is “six codes that day instead of one, each worth eight or nine SB instead of three, released every two hours from 7 AM to 5 PM PST”. These codes do last an hour like usual, and notifications (official and unofficial) do work.

Collector Bills: usually one week a month, plus one-day ones on some holidays. You collect themed pictures from search wins, and if you get them all (there's usually around five or six) you get an extra 20 SB. (One-day collectors are only one bill; I'm not sure if the reward is the same.) Since you can, and almost always will, get duplicates, it's very hard to get a full set.

Team Challenge: usually one week a month. You click the button on the Team Challenge page, and it randomly assigns you to a team. At the end of the week, team members get a rebate on their next gift card depending on how well their team did relative to the others. (Make sure to use the rebate in time, as it will expire after a couple of weeks. You may need to go into the Swag Up page to “activate” the rebate before you can use it.)

The rebates are between 10 – 100 SB, depending on that month's setup and on how well your team did. Very good pay for pressing one button!

There is a minimum amount of participation you have to do in order to qualify for the reward, but if you run videos you should have no trouble getting it.

Swago (short for “Swag Bingo”): usually one week a month. You get bingo squares by completing various tasks (get a search win, get a blue goal, get a survey disqualification point, claim a code via the SwagButton browser extension, etc). You must click the board first to activate it before it will track your task completions. If you complete a pattern, you can claim it to get some SB.

Shop Swago: usually once a month, beginning on a Monday and ending that Friday. This is a Swago variant that focuses on familiarizing you with the Shop & Earn system. Shop Swago gives fewer SB, but it's also easier to complete.

There are also occasional one-off events, like the prize wheel they did a while back to celebrate $200,000,000 redeemed.
